The Program Office would like to extend its thanks to longtime ABE Australia Lab Technician Debra Phillips. Deb has been an integral part of the program site since its beginning and is an expert on all things ABE. She oversees kit loans to over 50 partner schools, performing packing, cleaning, quality testing, and turnover of ABE materials up to 48 times per year! Deb constantly suggests ways to streamline ABE processes for the schools. She also optimizes and updates protocols, maintaining an organized and efficient lab. In addition, Deb facilitates PDIs, where she draws from her decades of experience to teach the art of efficient lab preparation and practical delivery. She has many troubleshooting tips and is always available to provide technical support to teachers across Australia.

Deb loves to share her knowledge and inspires teachers and students alike. According to her program site team, “We are hoping to clone her for every site—everyone needs a Deb!” Deb, we appreciate your hard work and dedication. Thank you for your contributions to ABE!
