The ABE Program Office conducted a Global Teacher Survey in 2022, collecting data from teachers across all 19 sites in the 12 countries active at that time. Over 500 teachers participated in the survey. The survey asked teachers to report on their experiences with professional development and program implementation, to reflect on their own learning, and to share perceptions of their students' experiences and learning.
This report offers a summary of the main findings from the survey:
- Teachers indicated that ABE is a unique and valuable program.
- ABE’s professional learning and support are high quality and comprehensive.
- Teachers gained skills related to biotech and increased interest in implementing innovative and inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Teachers indicated that ABE was particularly successful at engaging students in scientific practices and helping students understand how science is practiced.
