2021-22 ABE Master Teacher Fellows Announced

News Release
November 9, 2021

The ABE Program Office is excited to announce the second cohort of the ABE Master Teacher Fellowship, with its first meeting taking place this December 2021. As with its pilot year, it was a highly competitive field of applicants from all over the world representing ABE. The Fellowship was designed to address the need of supporting the development of teachers who have a passion for ABE and biotechnology. Each Fellow will receive a stipend and targeted support to develop a curriculum project that they are personally passionate about. Fellows will meet bi-monthly to collaborate and brainstorm. Fellows will also receive access to experts from Amgen staff and other STEM-focused organizations around the world to further support their professional learning.

Fellows will have access to experts from Amgen staff and other STEM-focused organizations around the world, and will set and reflect on their own goals for leadership. After the intensive 1-year program, Fellows will share their expertise and curriculum with the ABE international community. Fellows will provide peer advice and guidance on how to teach ABE while engaging students and connecting them with real-world, real-time applications for ABE content and skills.

This year’s Fellows represent a wide variety of ABE program sites: Greater Los Angeles Area, Metro Washington D.C. Area, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, Italy, Turkey, and Australia.

Meet the 2021–22 Fellows.
