This month, we are taking a moment to thank someone who is committed to shared program leadership and making biotechnology accessible to all students. We appreciate ABE Tampa Site Director Luanna Prevost, who has helped grow ABE from its earliest stages into a program that is building leadership from within. Luanna has focused much of her research on assessing student understanding of science. While the ABE Tampa program is still relatively “young,” Luanna has already worked with her team to conceptualize and support a model for experienced teacher leaders to facilitate ABE and train their peers while inviting district leaders to be part of the program’s strategic planning process. This inclusive sustainability strategy in a region with many demands on public school teachers will take ABE Tampa a long way! We appreciate you and all you do for ABE, Luanna!
